DL leaflets have a finished size of 99 x 210mm. Artwork should be prepared at the correct dimensions and include the required bleed beyond the finished edge wherever colours, photographs or graphics are intended to continue to the edge.
We require 2mm bleed on every edge, giving an overall artwork size of 103 x 214mm. Background colours and images that continue to the finished edge should extend fully into this additional area.
Important text, prices, logos and contact details should remain at least 3mm inside the finished edge. Keeping essential information within this safe area helps prevent it appearing too close to the trim after finishing.
Artwork should be supplied at the correct size, with photographs and other raster images ideally set at 300dpi at their final printed dimensions. This helps photographs, logos and detailed graphics remain clear when printed.
Where possible, prepare artwork using CMYK colour rather than RGB. Screens display colour in RGB, while commercial printing typically reproduces colour using CMYK. Because the two colour systems work differently, some colours may appear slightly different in print compared with how they look on screen.
The narrow DL format works best when the artwork is designed specifically for its proportions. Use clear headings, short sections and comfortable spacing rather than trying to squeeze a wider layout into the available width.
