For businesses promoting several services, restaurants presenting a short menu or organisations advertising an event, the extra space can make it easier to organise information clearly. If your message is much shorter and portability is more important, an A6 flyer may be a better alternative.
A5 flyers can be printed in either portrait or landscape orientation. Portrait layouts work well for traditional advertisements, menus, service lists and information arranged from top to bottom.
Landscape A5 can be useful for designs featuring wider photographs, side-by-side content, charts or layouts where information naturally runs across the page. Whichever orientation you select, your uploaded artwork should be prepared in the same orientation.
Single-sided A5 flyers are ideal when your message can be presented clearly on one face. Choosing double-sided printing effectively gives you a second page without increasing the physical size of the flyer.
The reverse can be used for additional products, prices, directions, opening times, terms, contact information or a different promotional message.

A5 flyers have a finished size of 148 x 210mm. When creating artwork for print, your file should also include bleed beyond the finished edge and allow sufficient space between important content and the trim line.
We require 2mm bleed on every edge, which means A5 artwork including bleed should measure 152 x 214mm. Any background colour, photograph or graphic intended to continue to the edge of the finished flyer should extend fully into this bleed area.
Important text, logos and other essential design elements should be positioned at least 3mm inside the finished edge. Keeping these elements within the recommended safe area reduces the risk of them appearing too close to the edge after trimming.
For a clear printed result, artwork should be created at the correct dimensions and images should ideally be 300dpi at their final printed size. Low-resolution images taken from websites or enlarged significantly may appear soft or pixelated when printed.
Where possible, prepare artwork using CMYK colour rather than RGB. Screens display colour in RGB, while commercial printing typically reproduces colour using CMYK. Because these colour systems work differently, some colours may appear slightly different in print compared with how they look on screen.
If you are unsure about the correct dimensions, bleed or safe area, use the A5 artwork diagram above as a visual guide. Checking these details before uploading can help prevent unwanted white edges, cropped content or text and logos sitting too close to the finished edge.
