The main advantage of A3 is the amount of usable page space. Detailed information can be separated into clear sections while headings, photographs and prices remain large enough to read comfortably.
If your content does not require this much space, an A4 Leaflet may be easier to distribute and store. A3 is better suited to layouts where a larger format improves clarity or where the printed piece needs stronger visual presence.
A3 leaflets can be printed in portrait or landscape orientation. Portrait works well for long menus, information guides, notices and layouts where the content follows a clear vertical structure.
Landscape gives you a wide working area for schedules, comparison tables, product ranges, maps or multi-column information. Your artwork should be supplied in the same orientation selected when ordering.

A3 leaflets have a finished size of 297 x 420mm. Artwork should be prepared at the correct dimensions and include the required bleed beyond the finished edge wherever colours, photographs or graphics are intended to continue to the edge.
We require 2mm bleed on every edge, giving an overall artwork size of 301 x 424mm. Background colours and images that continue to the finished edge should extend fully into this additional area.
Important text, prices, logos and contact details should remain at least 3mm inside the finished edge. Keeping essential information within this safe area helps prevent it appearing too close to the trim after finishing.
Artwork should be supplied at the correct size, with photographs and other raster images ideally set at 300dpi at their final printed dimensions. This helps photographs, logos and detailed graphics remain clear across the larger A3 format.
Where possible, prepare artwork using CMYK colour rather than RGB. Screens display colour in RGB, while commercial printing typically reproduces colour using CMYK. Because the two colour systems work differently, some colours may appear slightly different in print compared with how they look on screen.
The larger page gives you plenty of freedom, but content should still be organised carefully. Use headings, columns or clear sections where appropriate and check that important information remains easy to follow rather than simply filling the extra space.
