A3 Flyer Printing

A3 flyers provide a much larger printed area than standard handout sizes, making them a strong choice when visibility and visual impact are important. Measuring 297 x 420mm, A3 is twice the size of A4 and gives you considerably more room for large headlines, photographs, promotional messages and supporting information.

Upload your own print-ready artwork and choose from a range of gloss, silk and uncoated paper stocks. A3 flyers can be printed single or double sided and supplied in portrait or landscape orientation, depending on how and where the finished piece will be used.

What are A3 Flyers used for?

A3 flyers are well suited to promotions and information that need to attract attention from a greater distance than smaller flyer sizes. Common uses include event advertising, promotional displays, shop and reception information, sales messages, large notices, menus, campaign material and product or service promotions.

The extra space also allows designs to combine bold imagery with larger text and supporting details without everything feeling compressed. This makes A3 particularly useful where the flyer may be viewed on a wall, counter, display stand or in a window rather than simply handed directly to someone.

Why Choose A3 Flyers?

The main advantage of A3 is visibility. Larger headings, photographs and promotional messages can be given more prominence, making the format suitable when you want the design to stand out.

A3 also gives you greater freedom to create strong visual hierarchy. A headline can be read first, followed by supporting text, prices, dates or contact information without each element competing for space.

If the flyer will mainly be handed out or needs to contain detailed information in a more compact format, an A4 flyer may be more convenient. A3 is better suited to situations where the larger physical presence adds value.

Portrait or Landscape A3 Flyers

A3 flyers can be printed in either portrait or landscape orientation. Portrait works well for event promotions, notices, menus and vertical display layouts where the design is intended to be viewed from top to bottom.

Landscape A3 provides a wide canvas that can be useful for panoramic images, schedules, comparison information, multiple columns or promotional layouts containing several visual elements. Your uploaded artwork should be prepared in the same orientation selected when ordering.

Single or Double Sided Printing

Single-sided printing is often suitable when an A3 flyer is being used for display, where only one face will normally be visible.

Double-sided printing can be useful when the flyer will be handled, placed on counters or distributed directly. The reverse can contain additional information, alternative offers, event schedules, maps, prices or contact details.

Paper Choices for A3 Flyers

Choose from gloss, silk and uncoated stocks depending on the appearance and purpose of the finished flyer.

Gloss can suit bold photography and colourful promotional artwork, while silk provides a smoother and more restrained finish. Uncoated paper gives a more natural appearance and can work well for information-led designs or where a non-glossy surface is preferred.

A3 Flyer Artwork Guide

A3 flyers have a finished size of 297 x 420mm. When preparing artwork for print, your file should include the required bleed beyond the finished edge and keep important content safely inside the trim line.

We require 2mm bleed on every edge, giving an overall artwork size of 301 x 424mm. Any background colour, photograph or graphic intended to continue to the finished edge should extend fully into this bleed area.

Important text, logos and other essential elements should be positioned at least 3mm inside the finished edge. Keeping these elements within the recommended safe area reduces the risk of them appearing too close to the edge after trimming.

Preparing Print-Ready A3 Artwork

Artwork should be created at the correct dimensions, and images should ideally be 300dpi at their final printed size. This is particularly important with A3 artwork because images and design elements are reproduced at a larger physical size than on smaller flyers.

Where possible, prepare artwork using CMYK colour rather than RGB. Screens display colour in RGB, while commercial printing typically reproduces colour using CMYK. Because these colour systems work differently, some colours may appear slightly different in print compared with how they look on screen.

For A3 designs intended to be viewed from a distance, also consider text size and visual hierarchy. Large headings, clear contrast and uncluttered layouts will usually be more effective than trying to fill every available area with information.

Before Uploading Your File, Check That:

  • The document is the correct A3 size
  • 2mm bleed has been included on every edge
  • Important content remains within the recommended 3mm safe area
  • Images are high enough resolution for print
  • Headings and key information are large enough for the intended viewing distance
  • Artwork matches the portrait or landscape orientation selected when ordering
  • Both sides are included where double-sided printing has been selected

Need Help Checking Your Artwork?

Use the A3 artwork diagram as a visual reference if you are unsure about the correct dimensions, bleed or safe area. Checking these details before uploading can help prevent unwanted white edges, cropped content or important elements sitting too close to the finished edge.
