A3 roll fold leaflets provide six spacious panels for presenting detailed information while keeping the finished leaflet narrower and easier to handle than a full A3 sheet. They begin as a flat A3 sheet measuring 420 x 297mm and are roll folded into three vertical sections.
Also commonly called a tri-fold, this format works particularly well when information needs to be divided into several clear sections. The larger panels provide room for photographs, maps, service details, product information and supporting text without making the layout feel crowded.
Upload your own print-ready artwork and choose from gloss, silk and uncoated paper stocks.
A3 roll fold leaflets are a good choice when you need more content space than a standard DL tri-fold can provide. Common uses include product and service guides, property information, tourism leaflets, venue guides, maps, course information, business introductions and detailed customer reference material.
The six-panel format allows different subjects or groups of information to have their own dedicated space, while the larger panel size gives photographs and diagrams more room to be displayed clearly.
The finished leaflet remains relatively slim, making it convenient to hand out, display or keep for future reference.
The main advantage of an A3 roll fold is the combination of generous content space and a structured six-panel layout. It allows you to include significantly more information than a smaller tri-fold without presenting the reader with one large uninterrupted sheet.
As the leaflet opens, each section is revealed progressively, which can help guide the reader through services, products or other information in a logical order.
If your content is more concise, a 6 Page DL Folded Leaflet may provide enough room in a smaller finished format.
The leaflet starts as a flat A3 sheet measuring 420 x 297mm and is divided into three vertical panels. One outer panel folds inward first, followed by the opposite panel folding over it.
Because the first panel needs to tuck inside the leaflet, it is slightly narrower than the other two panels. This difference is important and allows the finished leaflet to close correctly without the inner panel buckling.
A fully printed A3 roll fold leaflet provides three panels on the outside and three on the inside.
The larger panels give you room for detailed descriptions, photographs, diagrams, maps and supporting information while still dividing the content into manageable sections.
Choose from gloss, silk and uncoated stocks depending on the style and intended use of your leaflet.
Gloss can suit colourful photography and product-led designs, silk provides a smoother and more understated finish, while uncoated paper offers a natural surface that can work well for guides, maps and information that may need to be written on.

An A3 roll fold leaflet is printed flat as a landscape A3 sheet measuring 420 x 297mm and folded into three vertical panels.
Artwork should be supplied as two complete landscape A3 spreads: one for the outside of the leaflet and one for the inside. Each spread contains three panels.
Because this is a roll fold, the panel that tucks inside must be slightly narrower than the other two. Use the artwork diagram alongside as a guide to the correct panel widths, fold positions, bleed and safe area.
For a fully printed A3 roll fold leaflet, supply:
Supply each side as one complete spread rather than six separate panel files. This helps ensure that artwork, backgrounds and fold positions remain correctly aligned.
The three panels are deliberately different widths so that one panel can tuck neatly inside the finished leaflet.
On the outside spread, the panels measure 138mm, 141mm and 141mm. On the inside spread, the order is reversed at 141mm, 141mm and 138mm.
The 138mm panel is the section that folds inward. Do not divide the 420mm sheet into three equal panels, as this can prevent the leaflet from closing correctly and may cause the inner panel to buckle.
We require 2mm bleed around the outer edge of each A3 spread. Background colours, photographs and graphics intended to continue to the trimmed edge should extend fully into this bleed area.
Important text, logos and other essential information should remain at least 3mm inside the finished trim edge.
Important content should also be kept clear of both fold lines. Photographs and background graphics can cross a fold where required, but text, logos and other critical details should not sit directly over the crease.
Artwork should be created at the correct dimensions, with photographs and other raster images ideally supplied at 300dpi at their final printed size.
Where possible, prepare artwork using CMYK colour rather than RGB. Screens display colour in RGB, while commercial printing typically reproduces colour using CMYK. Because the two colour systems work differently, some colours may appear slightly different in print compared with how they look on screen.
Before designing the spreads, decide which panel forms the front cover, which panel folds inside and how the information should flow as the leaflet is opened. Planning the sequence first can make a six-panel design much easier for the reader to follow.
Use the A3 roll fold leaflet artwork diagram as a visual reference for the flat sheet size, panel widths, fold positions, bleed and safe area. Checking both spreads carefully before upload is especially important with a roll fold because the narrower tuck-in panel must be positioned correctly for the leaflet to fold as intended.
