A1 Poster Printing

A1 posters are designed for displays where size and visibility really matter. Measuring 594 x 841mm, A1 provides a large printed area for bold headlines, strong imagery and promotional messages that need to be noticed from a greater distance.

Upload your own print-ready artwork and choose from gloss or satin stock. A1 posters are printed single sided and can be supplied in portrait or landscape orientation, making them suitable for retail displays, exhibitions, events and larger promotional spaces.

What are A1 Posters Used For?

A1 posters are well suited to locations where the design needs to attract attention quickly and remain visible across a larger space. Common uses include shop-window advertising, retail promotions, exhibition graphics, event posters, product launches, point-of-sale displays, large notices and campaign material.

The generous printed area gives you room to use larger typography and more prominent imagery while still leaving space for supporting information such as dates, prices, offers or contact details.

A1 can also work particularly well in busy environments where smaller posters may be overlooked.

Why Choose an A1 Poster?

The main advantage of A1 is its visual presence. The larger format allows key information to be seen from further away and gives photographs, graphics and promotional messages more impact.

It is especially useful when the poster needs to act as a focal point within a display, shop window, exhibition stand or event space.

If you need a large poster but have slightly less display space, an A2 poster may be more practical. A1 is the better choice where maximum visibility is the priority.

Portrait or Landscape A1 Posters

A1 posters can be printed in portrait or landscape orientation.

Portrait is a popular choice for retail promotions, exhibitions and traditional poster layouts where a large headline and supporting content are arranged vertically.

Landscape A1 is well suited to wide promotional graphics, exhibition displays, schedules and designs containing broad imagery or information arranged across the page.

Single-Sided Poster Printing

A1 posters are printed single sided, making them suitable for walls, windows, display boards and other surfaces where only the front of the poster will normally be visible.

This keeps the full printed area focused on one clear promotional or informational message.

Gloss or Satin Poster Stock

Choose between gloss and satin stocks depending on the style of your artwork and where the poster will be displayed.

Gloss can work especially well with colourful photography, strong graphics and bold promotional designs. Satin has a smoother, less reflective appearance and can be a good option where the poster contains a mixture of imagery and text or may be viewed under bright indoor lighting.

Ordering Your A1 Posters

Select your stock, orientation and required quantity before uploading your own print-ready artwork. Low quantities are available, making A1 suitable for individual displays as well as short promotional runs.

Free standard delivery is included, with faster delivery services available when required. Eligible orders can also benefit from fast 24-hour dispatch, with a next-day delivery option available for customers working to a tighter deadline.

A1 Poster Artwork Guide

A1 posters have a finished size of 594 x 841mm. When preparing artwork for print, your file should include the required bleed beyond the finished dimensions and keep important text, logos and other essential elements safely inside the trim line.

We require 2mm bleed on every edge, giving an overall artwork size of 598 x 845mm. Any background colour, photograph or graphic intended to continue to the finished edge should extend fully into this bleed area.

Important content should also be kept at least 3mm inside the finished edge. This recommended safe area helps prevent text, logos and other essential elements from appearing too close to the trim after finishing.

Preparing Print-Ready A1 Poster Artwork

Artwork should be created at the correct dimensions, with images ideally supplied at 300dpi at their final printed size. Because A1 posters are large, image quality is especially important where photographs and graphics occupy a significant part of the design.

Where possible, prepare artwork using CMYK colour rather than RGB. Screens display colour using RGB, while our large-format printing equipment reproduces colour using CMYK inks. Because the two colour systems work differently, some colours may appear slightly different in print compared with how they look on screen.

A1 posters are commonly viewed from a greater distance than smaller sizes, so the design should prioritise clear hierarchy, strong contrast and large, readable text. One strong headline and a clear focal image will usually be more effective than filling the page with too much detail.

Before Uploading Your File, Check That:

  • The document is the correct A1 size
  • 2mm bleed has been included on every edge
  • Important content remains within the recommended 3mm safe area
  • Images are high enough resolution for print
  • Key text is large enough for the intended viewing distance
  • Artwork matches the portrait or landscape orientation selected when ordering

Need Help Checking Your Artwork?

Use the A1 poster artwork diagram as a visual reference if you are unsure about the correct dimensions, bleed or safe area. Checking these details before uploading can help prevent unwanted white edges, cropped artwork or important content sitting too close to the finished edge.
