DL flyers have a distinctive tall, narrow shape that works particularly well for structured information, menus, price lists and promotional material. Measuring 99 x 210mm, the format is approximately one third of an A4 sheet and gives you useful vertical space without the width of a standard A-series flyer.
Choose from gloss, silk and uncoated paper stocks to suit the style and purpose of your design. DL flyers are available with single or double-sided printing and can be produced in portrait or landscape. The long, narrow proportions are particularly well suited to layouts such as menus, price lists, service guides and promotional offers.
DL flyers are well suited to content that naturally reads in a vertical sequence. Common uses include takeaway menus, price lists, treatment lists, service guides, promotional offers, event information, vouchers, product inserts and counter handouts.
The narrow format also makes DL useful where space is limited. Flyers can be displayed in brochure holders, placed on counters, included with orders or handed directly to customers without taking up as much room as an A5 or A4 sheet.
For businesses presenting a short list of services, prices or options, the shape can help organise information into a clear and easy-to-follow layout.
One of the main advantages of DL is its proportions. The tall format creates a different visual appearance from standard A-series flyers and can help promotional material stand out.
It is particularly effective for designs based around headings, short sections, lists and prices. The narrower width naturally encourages information to be kept organised, which can make the finished flyer easier to scan.
If your design contains larger photographs, wide tables or several columns, an A5 flyer may offer a more suitable layout. DL is often the better option when the information works naturally in a compact vertical format.
Portrait is the most common orientation for DL flyers and works especially well for menus, service lists, price guides and promotional information arranged from top to bottom.
Landscape DL creates a wide, shallow format that can suit vouchers, tickets, panoramic images or designs containing a short message and prominent branding.
Whichever orientation you choose, your uploaded artwork should be prepared to match the option selected when ordering.
Single-sided DL flyers are ideal for concise information that can be presented clearly on one face.
Double-sided printing provides additional space while keeping the same slim finished size. The reverse can be used for further prices, terms, opening times, contact information, directions or a second promotional message.
Choose from gloss, silk and uncoated stocks depending on the look and intended use of the finished flyer.
Gloss can work well for colourful promotions, photographs and menu imagery. Silk provides a smoother, more understated finish, while uncoated paper has a natural surface that can suit service lists, price guides and text-led designs.
Select your paper, printed sides, orientation and quantity before uploading your own artwork. Free standard delivery is included, with faster delivery services available if required.
Eligible orders can also benefit from fast 24-hour dispatch, with a next-day delivery option available for customers working to a tighter deadline.
DL flyers have a finished size of 99 x 210mm. When preparing artwork for print, your file should include the required bleed outside the finished dimensions and keep important content safely within the trim area.
We require 2mm bleed on every edge, giving an overall artwork size of 103 x 214mm. Any background colour, photograph or graphic intended to continue to the edge of the finished flyer should extend fully into this bleed area.
Important text, logos and other essential design elements should be kept at least 3mm inside the finished edge. Maintaining this safe area helps prevent important content from sitting too close to the trim after finishing.
Artwork should be created at the correct dimensions, with images ideally supplied at 300dpi at their final printed size. This helps photographs, logos and other detailed elements remain clear in print.
Where possible, prepare artwork using CMYK colour rather than RGB. Screens display colour in RGB, while commercial printing typically reproduces colour using CMYK. Because the two colour systems work differently, some colours may appear slightly different in print compared with how they look on screen.
The proportions of a DL flyer are noticeably narrower than A-series sizes, so it is worth checking that your design has been created specifically for DL rather than simply resizing artwork from another format. Allowing enough space around text and avoiding overcrowded horizontal layouts will usually produce a cleaner result.
Use the DL artwork diagram as a visual reference if you are unsure about the finished dimensions, bleed or safe area. Checking these details before uploading can help prevent unwanted white edges, cropped content or important elements sitting too close to the finished edge.
