6 Page DL Roll Fold Leaflet Printing

6 page DL folded leaflets provide six narrow panels for organising information into a clear sequence. They begin as a flat A4 sheet measuring 297 x 210mm and are roll folded into three sections to create a finished DL size of approximately 99 x 210mm.

This fold style is also commonly called a tri-fold. One panel folds inward first and the remaining panel folds over it, creating a compact leaflet that opens progressively as the reader moves through the content.

Upload your own print-ready artwork and choose from gloss, silk and uncoated paper stocks.

What are 6 Page DL Folded Leaflets Used For?

Six-panel DL leaflets work well when information needs to be divided into several clear sections without using a larger finished format. Common uses include service guides, treatment lists, price guides, menus, tourism information, product details, event information and company introductions.

Each panel can be used for a different section, allowing the reader to work through the information in a logical order rather than seeing everything at once.

The finished DL format is also convenient for reception areas, brochure holders, information racks and counter displays.

Why Choose a 6 Page DL Roll Fold Leaflet?

A roll fold provides more separate content areas than a 4 page DL leaflet while keeping the same slim finished size. This makes it particularly useful for businesses that need to present several services, categories or stages of information.

The progressive fold can also help guide the reader through the leaflet, with each panel revealing the next section as it is opened.

If your content only needs four larger sections, a 4 Page DL Folded Leaflet may provide a simpler layout. The 6 page version is better suited to information that benefits from additional separation.

How Does a DL Roll Fold Work?

The leaflet starts as a flat A4 sheet measuring 297 x 210mm and is divided into three vertical panels. One outer panel folds inward first, followed by the opposite panel folding over it.

Because one panel needs to tuck inside the others, the panels are not all exactly the same width. The folding panel is slightly narrower so the leaflet closes correctly without buckling.

Six Organised Panels

A fully printed roll fold leaflet provides three panels on the outside and three panels on the inside.

This gives you six separate areas for organising services, prices, instructions, product details or supporting information while keeping the finished leaflet compact.

Paper Choices for DL Roll Fold Leaflets

Choose from gloss, silk and uncoated stocks depending on the style and intended use of your leaflet.

Gloss can suit colourful photography and promotional artwork, silk provides a smoother and more understated finish, while uncoated paper offers a natural surface that can work well for information guides, treatment lists and designs that may need to be written on.

6 Page DL Roll Fold Leaflet Artwork Guide

A 6 page DL roll fold leaflet is printed flat as an A4 landscape sheet measuring 297 x 210mm and folded into three vertical panels to create the finished DL format.

Artwork should be supplied as two landscape A4 spreads: one for the outside of the leaflet and one for the inside. Each spread contains three panels.

Because this is a roll fold, one panel needs to be slightly narrower so it can tuck inside the folded leaflet correctly. The artwork diagram alongside shows the correct panel widths, fold lines, bleed and safe area.

Supplying Your 6 Page DL Artwork

For a fully printed roll fold leaflet, supply:

  • One landscape A4 outside spread with three panels
  • One landscape A4 inside spread with three panels

Do not divide the artwork into six separate files. Supplying the design as two complete spreads makes it easier to position content correctly around the fold lines.

DL Roll Fold Panel Sizes

The three panels are deliberately different widths so that the inside panel has enough room to fold neatly inside the leaflet.

On the outside spread, the panels measure 97mm, 100mm and 100mm. On the inside spread, the order is reversed at 100mm, 100mm and 97mm.

The 97mm panel is the section that folds inward. Using equal-width panels can cause the leaflet to buckle or prevent it from closing correctly, so artwork should follow the supplied panel dimensions rather than dividing the A4 sheet into three equal sections.

Bleed and Safe Area

We require 2mm bleed around the outer edge of each A4 spread. Background colours, photographs and graphics intended to continue to the finished edge should extend fully into this bleed area.

Important text, logos, prices and other essential information should remain at least 3mm inside the finished trim edge.

Important wording should also be kept clear of both fold lines. Background images can cross the folds where required, but small text and other critical information should not sit directly over a crease.

Preparing Print-Ready 6 Page DL Artwork

Artwork should be created at the correct dimensions, with photographs and other raster images ideally supplied at 300dpi at their final printed size.

Where possible, prepare artwork using CMYK colour rather than RGB. Screens display colour in RGB, while commercial printing typically reproduces colour using CMYK. Because the two colour systems work differently, some colours may appear slightly different in print compared with how they look on screen.

Roll fold artwork benefits from careful planning before the design is started. Decide which panel will form the front cover, which panel tucks inside and how the reader should move through the information as the leaflet is opened.

Before Uploading Your File, Check That:

  • The artwork is supplied as two landscape A4 spreads
  • Each spread contains three correctly positioned panels
  • The 97mm folding panel is in the correct position
  • The outside spread uses 97mm, 100mm and 100mm panels
  • The inside spread uses 100mm, 100mm and 97mm panels
  • 2mm bleed has been included around the outer edges
  • Important content remains within the recommended 3mm safe area
  • Important text and logos are kept clear of both fold lines
  • Images and graphics are high enough resolution for print
  • The panel order has been checked before upload

Need Help Checking Your Artwork?

Use the 6 page DL roll fold artwork diagram as a visual reference for the flat A4 size, panel widths, fold positions, bleed and safe area. Checking the outside and inside spreads carefully before upload is especially important with a roll fold because the narrower tuck-in panel must be positioned correctly for the finished leaflet to fold as intended.
