A2 posters provide a substantial printed area for promotions and displays that need to be seen from further away. Measuring 420 x 594mm, A2 is twice the size of A3 and gives you more space for bold headlines, large images and clear supporting information.
Upload your own print-ready artwork and choose from gloss or satin stock. A2 posters are printed single sided and are suitable for portrait or landscape designs, making them a versatile option for retail displays, events, exhibitions and promotional campaigns.
A2 posters are well suited to locations where a smaller poster may not provide enough visibility. Common uses include shop-window promotions, event advertising, exhibition displays, point-of-sale messaging, product launches, directional signage and large notices.
The larger format gives you room to use stronger typography and more prominent imagery, which can help the design attract attention in busy spaces. A2 can also work well for menus, schedules and information boards where content needs to remain clear from a greater distance.
A2 offers a useful balance between size and practicality. It is large enough to create a strong visual presence while still being manageable for many indoor display areas.
The extra space allows key information to be given more prominence, which can make the finished poster easier to scan and understand quickly. This is especially useful for promotional messages, event details or retail offers where the viewer may only have a few seconds to take in the information.
If your display area is smaller or the poster will mainly be viewed at close range, an A3 poster may be more suitable. For larger spaces or greater viewing distances, an A1 poster may provide stronger impact.
A2 posters can be printed in portrait or landscape orientation.
Portrait is a popular choice for event promotions, retail advertising and traditional poster layouts where a large headline sits above supporting information.
Landscape A2 works well for wide images, schedules, comparison layouts, exhibition graphics and information that needs to be arranged across the page.
A2 posters are printed single sided, as they are primarily intended for display against walls, windows, boards and other surfaces where only the front is visible.
This keeps the entire design focused on a single clear message and allows maximum use of the available printed area.
Choose between gloss and satin stocks depending on the style of your artwork and where the poster will be displayed.
Gloss can enhance colourful photography, bold graphics and promotional designs. Satin offers a smoother, less reflective appearance and can be a good choice for posters containing a mixture of text and imagery.
Select your stock, orientation and required quantity before uploading your own print-ready artwork. Low quantities are available, making A2 suitable for individual displays as well as short promotional runs.
Free standard delivery is included, with faster delivery services available when required. Eligible orders can also benefit from fast 24-hour dispatch, with a next-day delivery option available for customers working to a tighter deadline.
A2 posters have a finished size of 420 x 594mm. When preparing artwork for print, your file should include the required bleed beyond the finished dimensions and keep important text, logos and other essential elements safely inside the trim line.
We require 2mm bleed on every edge, giving an overall artwork size of 424 x 598mm. Any background colour, photograph or graphic intended to continue to the finished edge should extend fully into this bleed area.
Important content should also be kept at least 3mm inside the finished edge. This recommended safe area helps prevent text, logos and other essential design elements from appearing too close to the trim after finishing.
Artwork should be created at the correct dimensions, with images ideally supplied at 300dpi at their final printed size. Because A2 posters are physically larger than A3 and A4, image quality becomes increasingly important where photographs or graphics occupy a large part of the design.
Where possible, prepare artwork using CMYK colour rather than RGB. Screens display colour using RGB, while our large-format printing equipment reproduces colour using CMYK inks. Because the two colour systems work differently, some colours may appear slightly different in print compared with how they look on screen.
A2 posters are often viewed from further away than smaller formats, so it is worth giving extra attention to text size, contrast and hierarchy. A bold headline and clear focal point will usually be more effective than filling the poster with too much information.
Use the A2 poster artwork diagram as a visual reference if you are unsure about the correct dimensions, bleed or safe area. Checking these details before uploading can help prevent unwanted white edges, cropped artwork or important content sitting too close to the finished edge.
